Apply for Professor Aimee T. Dickinson Scholarship Supporting Equity and Diversity

Professor Aimee T. Dickinson {she/her/hers} was an educator, mentor and friend on the campus of Lorain County Community College. She began her time here as a student and realized her dream of becoming a Professor of Sociology; educating and inspiring countless students. She was any ally; a positive force who elevated and advocated for equity and diversity. In 2020, Professor Dickinson passed away suddenly. This scholarship was established by her students, colleagues and friends who came together with her loved ones to create the Professor Aimee T. Dickinson Scholarship in Equity and Diversity to ensure her positive voice and dream remain alive and part of the LCCC Campus.


This award is intended to support Lorain County Community College students with the cost of tuition, books and related education fees (cost of education). Preference will be given to those who meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled part-time or full-time
  • Preference given to those enrolled in LCCC's Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies One-Year Certificate Program or Sociology
  • 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Must demonstrate financial need
  • You may provide one (1) letter of recommendation from a mentor, faculty member, employer, or other individual
