Building on its long history of collaboration with Sherwin-Williams, Lorain County Community College (LCCC) is launching “Create Your Possible”, a Sherwin-Williams Scholarship and Learning Community. The Sherwin-Williams Scholarship and Learning Community is a subset of the STEM Learning Community that provides scholarships and supports to students pursuing degrees in STEM.
Students eligible for the Create Your Possible Sherwin-William STEM Scholarship and Learning Community are those that are enrolled in a Software Development pathway and/or have declared Software Development as a major. In addition, all awarded students must be willing to participate in work-based learning experiences and the STEM Scholarship Learning Community.
Eligible students will meet the following criteria:
- New to LCCC, or new to the Software Development program
- Pursuing an eligible certificate or degree program in Software Development or corresponding degree in a University Partnership program
- GPA Requirement of 2.75 or higher (3.0 or higher is preferred)
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Ohio resident and able to work in the United States
Awarded students will receive the following:
- Scholarship capped at $3000 that can be dispersed throughout multiple semesters
- Preparation and funding for credential exams
- Tours of Sherwin-Williams
- Engagement and Mentorship opportunities with Sherwin-Williams
- Access to Earn and Learn opportunities with various employers
- Transportation Support to support ability to attend work-based learning activities
- Professional Development days
- Other resources to overcome common hurdles for students through student services

University Partnership Students: In your Universal Application, you must attach your most recent transcripts and proof of enrollment in the UP Institution for the semester of the scholarship. LCCC students’ status can be accessed by LCCC’s Student Financial Aid; therefore, they are exempt of having to show proof of enrollment and transcripts.
