Lorain County Community College is proud to announce the availability of the Maria McConnell & Alumni LEAD Business Scholarship. This award is intended to support Lorain County Community College/University Partnership students who are interested in pursuing careers in the business world. As the name suggests successful individuals in the business world LEAD by Learning, Enthusiasm, Authenticity and Dreams. Funding for this scholarship came from LCCC Enactus (SIFE) teams; Professor Maria McConnell, Enactus (SIFE) Advisor (1999- 2014); and the following Enactus (SIFE) student leaders – Amanda Hoover, Enactus (SIFE) President (2010-13) The mission of the LCCC Enactus Team was "to educate and to empower all community members in the development and understanding of business and social skills that will provide opportunities for growth, profitability and sustainability."
Preference will be given to those who meet the following criteria:
- Second year standing with a minimum of 30 credit hours completed; preference given to business majors
- Cumulative 2.5 GPA or better
- Proven community service
- Demonstrated financial need
- Application must also include one recommendation letter from an official of the service organization
- Letter from service organization must be recent and submitted on the service organization’s letterhead or email
- Applicants may only receive the scholarship one time
