The Police Academy Incentive Award for Non-Traditional Students (IANS) is a privately funded award to help non-traditional students achieve a college education and training through the Lorain County College Police Academy. You may be a non-traditional student 1) if you are not dependent on your parents for support, 2) if you support your own child, 3) if you are a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, or 4)if you are over 24 years of age. Other qualifications are defined by the Federal government on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The amount of the award varies per student and it can be used to help pay for tuition and books. A FAFSA is required to determine the applicant's need. Be sure to list LCCC's School Code, 003068, as your college choice when you complete your FAFSA.
